Riding members must be at least 16 years old. All riding members are trained, free of charge, in basic first aid and CPR. You can further your medical training, free of charge, up to the level of an Emergency Medical Technician. All riding members are trained on all equipment carried on the ambulance and they are required to attend both the general membership meetings as well as monthly training. If you choose, you will be trained to drive the ambulance. This is a good way to increase self confidence, be more comfortable with treating medical emergencies and build new friendships in the process.
Auxiliary members must be at least 16 years old. Basic first aid and CPR are offered, free of charge, to auxiliary members whether they choose to be riding members or not. Auxiliary members play an extremely important part of the ambulance corps as they put together fund raising events and help with our annual community day which is held in the fall.
Check out the Auxiliary tab on the home page to learn more about fund raising events.
